<p>I was just noticing over at the Parents Forum there is an acronym thread and I thought nobody has more acronyms than the military -- an acronym thread over here might add some value and be some fun at the same time. </p>
<p>Here we go -- copy and add your own:</p>
<p>FYSA = For Your Situational Awareness</p>
<p>USAFA terms (part 1):
SAMI = Saturday Additional Morning Inspection (comprehensive room inspection)</p>
<p>AMI = Additional Morning Inspection (weekday inspection to much less demanding standards than a SAMI)</p>
<p>PAI = Personal Accountability Inpection (uniform inspection)</p>
<p>ORI = Open Ranks Inspection (basically a PAI done as a unit, slightly more formal)</p>
<p>GR = Graded Review (test)</p>
<p>BCT = Basic Cadet Training (6 week basic training for incomming freshmen)</p>
<p>GE = Global Engagement (mock deployment training)</p>
<p>A-Hall = Arnold Hall (student union and theater for mass briefings)</p>
<p>Vandy = Vandenberg Hall (dorms)</p>
<p>Sijan = Sijan Hall (more dorms)</p>
