G.p.a.

Hey, anyone, I am currently a juinor in High School. I have taken the most challenging courses my school has to offer, during 9th, 10th, and 11th grade. Also, I am taking A.P. U.S. History and A.P. Economics this year as well as othe r honors courses. I plan to apply to the following schools:

NYU (stern)
UPitt
Columbia
Brown
George Washington

My only problem is that my G.P.A. is 3.3 on a scale of 4.0. However, my Sat I scores were total 1450. I will take 3 Sat II's and will bring my GPA up some. Furthermore, I have many Extra curricular activities and such. Can someone tell me are my chances ruined for any of these schools, due to my G.P.A., and if so, which ones? How big a factor is GPA in deciding admissoins, even wth compementary very good SAT scores?

someone reply plz

3.3 is a little low. But, it depends.
class rank..?

1450 is good.

u should have AWESOME ECs if u want to make up for ur 3.3
but then again,depends on class rank...

hmm, no brown or columbia for you, my friend, unless you apply early. I think you'll be okay to NYU, UPitt, and GW.

even if you apply early to columbia or brown your chances are very slim with that gpa. the most you are going to be able to bring up your gpa 1st semester senior year is .2-.3 and a 3.5-3.6 is not going to cut it. Stern will also be a reach for you because nyu's admissions process revolves heavily around gpa. Your high sat will help but grades are the most important. You should be good for the remaining schools.
