GA Chemical Engineering transfer

I am currently a sophomore in Auburn University majoring in chemical engineering. I have completed 40 hours that includes Cal 1 & 2, chem 1&2, Phy1&2, comp sci and I have conducted research in chemistry for 2 semesters. I am actively involved in University Honors college, AIChE and I have a 4.0 GPA overall unweighed. I am also a private Physics and chemistry tutor. What are the chances of me getting into GA tech for the Spring sem. I am an Alabama resident.

100% with a 4.0

Tech will only look at your GPA. They have a section where you can self-report your standardized test scores, but it isn’t required and may not even factor into your admission decision. ECs and research definitely don’t play a part in transfer admission.

But like the post above me said, having a 4.0 and applying for Spring semester makes it very likely that you’ll be accepted.

Anyone transferred as chem E to GA tech? What was your GPA?

I transferred as a ChemE to Tech with a GPA of 3.87

Are you in state or out of state and how many hours did you have when u transferred. I have 40 and have taken all pre reqs for the major.

I am in-state, and I had 58 transferable hours to Tech (including AP credit).

Honestly, your chances look pretty good. There’s not much you can do at this point to boost your chances anyway, so just apply and hope for the best.

I just realized that I have 55 hours when AP’s are included. But, GA tech will only look at the credits taken in the previous institution is’nt it?

Your AP credit will transfer if it meets Tech’s requirements, which may or may not be different from your current institution.

I’m also transferring with a 4.0 into the ChemE program… I’m a Math/Chemistry major at my current school, however. Do most transfers into the ChemE program come from a ChemE program?

I’m afraid my chances are slimmer because I’m not studying chemical engineering at my current school

I don’t know how many spots GA Tech has for chemE’s for the spring. My councillor told me the admission will be solely based on the number of spots available. Anyone who is in ChemE at Tech tell me how many transfers Tech admits each semester for ChemE.
