GA Tech Essay Help - AP Courses

Hi! I have a few questions about my college application essay.

Topic:
Recall an occasion when you took a risk that you now know was the right thing to do.

Subject:
GA Tech's website says your rigor of high school courses is major factor when deciding admission. So, I'm writing about making the decision to get on the AP Track my school offers.

Problem:
Since my school just recently started having Advanced Placement courses, the scores on the AP exams have been terrible; I've made 1's and 2's on the AP exams. But, by the time I graduate I will have taken 4 AP classes (the only 4 my school offers). So I've taken the most rigorous classes my school offers.

Questions:
Should I discuss the bad AP scores in the essay?
Should I just write about something else?

*The essay was going well until I came upon this problem.

They’ve already seen your grades and scores elsewhere in your application. I think this essay is your opportunity to show “you” . Write about when you took a risk but also use an example where you were a leader, a good friend, passionate, altruistic, or some combination of that.

The essay you describe seems like you are writing an excuse/apology for bad scores, not a good idea. Plus, you don’t need to report the low AP scores.

Good luck.

I agree with imontoya, you should write about something else.
