GA Tech or UGA w/ C in Precalc Honors

Hi there,
Question for those with more college admissions knowledge than me!
I am a female junior in high school, hoping to attend Georgia Tech or the University of Georgia. My (unweighted) GPA is a 3.9 (at the end of sophomore year), and I've gotten straight As in math since I began high school. However, I am taking precalcules honors this year and am not doing well--I suspect I'll end up with about a C. It's a notoriously difficult class at my school.
I live in Georgia and am a captain for my sports team and have a few other leadership positions in my school.
I did terribly on my PSATs last October (mostly just got a really rough math score which I have now improved in practice tests) and had about a ~1800 (translated to the 2400 scale) but I should be able to improve that by about 200-300 points at least.
Anyone have any thoughts on how realistic my chances of getting into UGA/Tech are?
Many thanks!

My guess is your chances are better at UGA. You need to take ACT/SAT to know where you stand.

UGA re-calculates GPA differently. So what you see on transcript may be different from how UGA looks at your transcript.

TBH, and this is what ACCCEPTED students from UGA told me:

Your test scores? You may not know how you’ll get in through UGA. One person said they had a friend with a 36 on ACT , but outright denied in Early. No deferral, but denial.

GPA matters a LOT in UGA. Also, rigor of high school courses is really important. AP and IB is what they look in. Of course, they will see honors/pre-ap, they do not ignore this, however, they don’t emphasize/label honors on same level as rigor as AP/IB.

I say you apply to find out.UGA early action came out on September 2nd. I already finished mine September 4th(And if anyone ever asks, I had file of required info already finished ahead of time and proofread and edited and made sure no errors were inputted in application before applying)

Many recommend EA, but it’s up to you how you want to apply.

I am also from GA as well :)

One C won’t kill you too much .Like you said, you had mostly all A’s since high school. This is just what I’m taking from what Ive gotten advice on.

@SammyxB‌ Oh my gosh thank you so much for your help!! My school doesn’t really have APs (very odd, I know) but this class is a “seminar” and will show up on my transcript at a level 5/hardest math class available to me. Do you know how this will affect my application? I’m taking 1 science AP and then four of the hardest level classes that I should get an A/-A in, this year, so I’m hoping it will even out a bit!
