Ga Tech, UIUC, Purdue, accepted?

anybody who got accepted to Georgia tech, Univ. of Illinois at Urbana Champ, and Purdue? mind to share your STAT? GPA, SAT and ECs plz :) thanks a lot

i got into purdue & uiuc already, and i'm pretty damn sure i'll get in gatech (in-state).

stats:

gpa: 3.3
sat: 1360,
satii's: 700 physics, 790 math iic, 720 writing (don't know if these matter)
ec's: track team, a few special interesting clubs here and there... tutoring, etc...

cool, did you apply early? coz i haven't finished my apps to purdue and ga tech, i know i procrastinated, but too much has happened in the past few months, anyhow, here is the url to my STAT, do u think i'll have a good shot at it? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=20843
thanks for your post :) and merry christmas

bumppppppppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!

i think you need to calm down a bit. you seem to have two or three threads that are all basically about the same thing, then you're bumping them all, and remaining calm is always a good thing. basically purdue is probably a match, uiuc a reach (maybe not too far, since it was your verbal that brought down your SAT and you're first language isn't english, but your class rank also hurts your chances), ga tech is a reach because of your SAT and class rank. however, you have decent EC's, so that gives you a bit of a boost with your chances at each but not much because they both seem to be numbers oriented as i said to you before.

also, it's your SAT and class rank holding you back a bit. however, you can kinda fix your SAT. take it again in january if there's still time to sign up. study like hell and get your score up and send it in. then call or write the admissions office and ask to be re-evaluated for admission or scholarships. i know you can do that purdue, not sure about the others, but you could try. and for purdue, you could get a scholarship if you just raise your scores a bit.

also, another problem is that purdue has rolling admissions, that will hurt your chances, especially since it's pretty late, especially for engineering. uiuc, you might be ok because all they have is priority deadline, but it will still hurt you. their engineering is so popular that a lot of students probably made that deadline. not sure about ga tech. if they're rolling, i'm sorry to say, but i doubt you'll make it unless you improve your score to at least 75th percentile.

what else can i tell you... out of those three schools, where ever you go, you'll get a good education. if you want other places to apply to i'd suggest wisconsin at madison, iowa state, missouri at rolla. i'm not sure about their deadlines.

now, please relax, turn in your apps, and stop worrying.
