I know I already made a post about this but I’m paranoid at this point. I’m worried I wont get into any of the four colleges I listed. My backup is UGA. Here are my stats. Im a rising senior.
Weighted GPA: 3.84
Unweighted GPA: 3.66
GA Tech Weighted GPA: 3.8ish (apparently they have their own way of calculating GPA)
ACT: 32 E(34) M(31) R(33) S(29). will be retaking. I took a practice test recently and got a 33 so hopefully I can do that in September. Also, what is superscoring? I’ve heard GA Tech does it but do the other colleges superscore as well?
APs: Biology, World History, US History, Physics 1, Lang. Senior year: Physics C, Calc BC, gov/econ.
EC: Cross Country 9-11, Beta Club, Math Honor Society, DECA, JR marshall 11.
I’m mostly concerned about my GPA. Im worried that its too low compared to other applicants. If there is anything else that I should add that would help please let me know. Im freaking out right now!!!
also, freshman year I completely sucked. I got a 60 in ap bio (without 10 points) first semester and two Bs. Second semester I got a 77 (w/out 10 points) and the other classes all As. Sophomore, junior year, I made all As if 10 points are added to AP classes with the exception of second semester junior year. (natural As in Physics and Lang) will my bad freshman year ruin my chances? I really want them to see how I improved and changed as a student (i wrote my essay about this btw. Is that a bad idea?)
These are some EC that I forgot to mention (btw I wasnt very persistent with some ECs, especially orchestra.
9th: XC, GCYS orchestra.
10th: XC, All state orchestra, GHP orchestra, didnt make it in but I was a state finalist.
11th: XC, Beta Club, Math Honor Society, Jr marshall. I didnt have any leadership roles, but I was very dedicated when it came to community service.
Please give me your thoughts? Do i even have a chance at the colleges I listed? GA techs acceptance rate dropped significantly and I’m really worried.
PS: is it true that GA tech only looks at Math and English for ACT?
