GA Tech

Hi, I am a american resident with Indian education (i am an Asian) I want to know if i can get admission into Georgia Tech . I apply in October early action plan this year.
Assume that i write all the essays and stuff with average-good rating. Moreover does my international education and race affect my chance. If yes please tell how and is it good or bad that i am internationally educated.

------------ACADEMICS---------------

-grade 10 = 9.2/10
-grade 11 = 1st term 79.2% ( INDIAN HIGH SCHOOL IS VERY TOUGH)
= 2nd term-75%.
= Overall - 75.something %
-grade 12 = will send scores of 1st term as 2nd term result will come in may 2014.
-SAT I = CR-650, Writing-660, Math-790 .
= total - 2100/2400 and 1440/1600.
-SAT II = will give physics and Math IIC. expecting greater than 780 in both.

------------COCURRICULARS----------

-Volunteer work in an organisation promoting education among poor. ( each one teach one)
here i basically taught those who couldn't go to school basic English and Math. Have the certificate.

-Was in my school football team (class 8) and then in basketball (class 11 and 12) though i do not have any certificates for that. I rarely went for matches as i was too busy in academics. ( INDIAN EDUCATION FOCUSES BASICALLY ON ACADEMICS )

-LORs from physics teacher and math teacher(who buy the way also teaches in a Engineering college so that would make a impact)

------------PERSONAL---------------

-I am pretty good a Maths (specially calculus).i am gonna include that in SOPs and essays (somehow).

-My real brother who is 6 years older than me got accepted into it for MTech in EE. I want to do B.Tech and M.tech( if i get the option) in CE. So it says on their site that they consider Alumini relation. Well i this is not exactly a "'Alumini" relation..but does this count?

Please tell me can i get into GA Tech...Thankyou for your consideration in advance

Unfortunately your GPA is a little low and your extracurriculars are a bit sparse, regardless of the rigor of Indian education. Many kids from Asia come to study STEM subjects in the U.S., so competition is tough (especially for Indian students). Most of those applicants have very high GPAs and test scores, which will make it even harder for you. I would definitely recommend applying to other schools as well, but if you want to apply to GA Tech as a high reach, go for it!

Good luck! :)

its too late to change any of that…what about on the basis of SAT 1 and SAT 2.
I am also applying to UIUC, clemson, duke, UPenn, Purdue, MIT( no chance, i know ), Carneige Mellon, NorthWestern and 3 more. Please also chance me on them. :-D

your sat score is good for ga tech.
75% in the 11th from an indian school is very competitive for ga tech as the schools have a very rigorous courseload. ga tech by no means is a high reach for you because everyone applying(from india) will have similar grades.you actually have a really good chance and if you write a decent essay you should have no problem getting in. Good Luck :D
