does tech have ed? cause i already know its my first choice
also do i need recommendations? cause one of my teachers that i know well went to tech so would that help at all

one thing that im really curious about. how can colleges be so picky about a students gpa when all schools are different in many ways? grading systems, teachers, etc etc

I'm not sure if GA Tech has early or not..

Your SAT scores will definitely help you out, your GPA... not as much, but since you seem to be taking a fairly challenging courseload; you are better off than most applicants with 3.2's.

As for EC's: "there are more, too many to name at the moment.", I'll take that as a sign that you definitely do a lot outside school, the EC's you got are pretty good.

I think you got a great shot at GA Tech.
Good luck, it's a great school!

"one thing that im really curious about. how can colleges be so picky about a students gpa when all schools are different in many ways? grading systems, teachers, etc etc"

That's why course load and class rank go hand in hand with gpa. If you have a 3.7 gpa and are ranked 50/203 and are taking easy classes, top colleges easily distinguish you from the 3.2 ranked top 10% with challenging courses (and good scores on his AP/SAT tests)

one last question(for real this time):
even if someone does get a bad grade in an ap class, shouldnt they go by what they score on the ap exam since that is standardized? cause i know some ap teachers are so easy and give free points to students and the students get As in the class but score really bad on the exams. but then some people get low grades in class (could be because the teacher is much more strict, or maybe they just arent good test takers) but they learn more in the class and end up getting 4s and 5s on the exam. isnt learning the material and understanding more important than a letter grade?

sorry that was kinda long. you dont have to read it if you dont want to.

Tech doesn't have ED or EA really...but if you turn your app in by October 31, you can get the Presidential Scholarship and they give you your decision early. That's what I did. And I think that if you don't get into Tech, there's something wrong. I know people who have a lot less than you who got in. I wouldn't be too worried...but you never know...so good luck.
And yes...learning the material is more important than letter grade. Your grade on the actual AP exam is more important than getting a 100 in the class.

IF you apply before Oct 31, I don't know whether or not it will help you, actually. I assume that it probably will, since its sort of rolling admissions at that point. It doesn't hurt, at any rate.

I am pretty sure GaTech has rolling admissions until their deadline. They reply to the applications as they are sent in. Honestly, GaTech is an excellent school but it is not that hard to get into. I know people with horrible GPAs who have been accepted, you should be fine, especially if you show the right ambition. Be wary though, everyone I know who goes to Tech hates it.
Good luck!
