Gabelli School of Business Rose Hill vs. Penn State Smeal College of Business

Hi guys! I was recently waitlisted by my top 2 choices and now have a very tough decisions to make between Penn State Smeal College of Business and Fordham Gabelli School of Business. With scholarships and aid, the cost of both schools is pretty equitable, so try to keep tuition out of mind when judging. I live in Northeastern PA, so both schools are about the same distance. I really like Fordham’s location and size, but I love Penn State’s school spirit and athletics. My parents also prefer Penn State, so that is a bit of a factor in my decision.

Really just curious if anybody knows which school has the better business program and best rates of job placement and job preparedness after college. Thanks for the help!

Here you go I find this site really helpful. It compares undergraduate business schools. Fordham and Penn State are very similar. Penn State is ranked slightly higher, they have almost the same percent employed, and Fordham has a slightly higher salary.

@Zylout‌ thanks for the great links!

Both have very good business schools but these are two very different universities. I think you need to really consider which school you feel you can be more successful at and will be happier at. Some questions I’d ask are…Do you want small classes where you know your teachers or will you be fine in large lectures? Do you want Greek Life? Is big time sports important? Do you want a chance to have great internships during the school year? Do you mind a large core curriculum? Do you prefer a Jesuit or non-religious school? Do you prefer an urban campus or not? Is size of school/campus a factor to you? etc.
