Hey guys,

So I applied as an economics major for the rose hill campus. I was wondering if I got admitted how difficult it would be to switch into the Gabelli School of Business? Can I change it before I am enrolled? By the end of my freshmen year?

It’s much easier to switch before you start classes. I think this is the man to email, and I think you ought to inquire with him as soon as possible.

I heard it was easier to be admitted to the liberal arts college. Will it be possible to transfer after I am admitted?

Unless someone on the admissions staff told you that, I’d believe the website. “[T]here is no advantage or disadvantage for students who wish to apply directly to a particular school or major versus those who come in ‘Undecided.’” [Individual College Admit Rates](http://fordham.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1309/~/individual-college-admit-rates-and-changing-majors)

I believe you can transfer after being admitted but before starting classes. But I would strongly recommend contacting the transfer dean or some other university faculty member to make sure that’s possible, since there are certain freshman classes Gabelli students have to take.

I would also suggest that if you want Gabelli you should call admissions and try to flip you application now. I think I have read on this wall that in some years Gabelli is filled to capacity after the admission cycle so you may have to wait a semester or two before transferring. IMO it makes more sense to apply to the school you want to be in.

Does anyone know how difficult it is to be admitted? I need a substantial FA package…

I am Korean American and attend one of the most rigorous prep schools in the country with a cumulative GPA of 3.3. I have a 1900 SAT (690 CR, 670 M, 540 W)- taking again and a 760 (US History) 670 (World). I am fluent in two languages and efficient in Chinese and Spanish. Two AP’s with US history (5) and Psychology (3).

My EC’s involve student council, varsity football, model UN, taekwondo and I also worked as a waiter to help support my family.

Can anyone chance me from above? Thank you!

@Yup
I would say you’ll likely get in. Does your school rank? I’m assuming that 3.3 is an acceptable GPA because you said you attend a rigorous prep school, but a rank would just confirm that. Your activities are excellent (especially you being a waiter to support your family) and your scores are a little too close average, but considering the fact that your M + CR is 1360, you should be good. Make sure to mention that you were a waiter to support your family, and find a way to throw your bilingualism into your app.

Is it in any way possible to double major in Business Administration at Gabelli and English at Fordham College, or is it impossible because of the different cores? In such case, is it possible to Major in Business Administration and minor in English and/or Political Science?

Also, if I was admitted to Fordham College but may want to attend Gabelli, what should I do? Should I contact admissions now before it fills to capacity?

School does not rank but it is considered top three in the country. My application has already been submitted and my job has been already listed as an EC, is that adequate?

Well, I meant that you could have used your EC elaboration space to talk about it, but it probably wouldn’t have made that much of a difference anyway. I believe you’ll definitely get in either way.

Hello everyone,
First of all, congrats to all Gabelli newly admitted students. Just one question in all those students’ mind. How is Career Placement of Gabelli students? Do they easily find a place in wall street? Possibly I-banks? Is a Gabelli education competitive enough to get their students to prestigious jobs?
I hope someone can give me an idea of that. After all, I’m an international student and I do not have a chance to visit the school and talk to the people myself.
Thanks so much!
