Gah! Panicking about FinAid?

I just saw on UChicago's website that the required materials for FinAid are due today for EA applicants! I got confused between them and Northwestern. If I don't get my tax forms and CSS Profile in today, does that mean I can't apply EA?

I asked the same question and a user answered that you just get your FinAid results a week or so after your acceptance letter (if you get in)

where do we do the financial aid forms??

Yeahhh that doesn’t answer my question at all.

Today is the due date for the application and some financial aid materials, such as the tax forms and CSS profile, are as well. However I can’t get my fax to go through tonight so it looks like I will just have to mail them tomorrow. My question is, since I am “late” in sending in my tax forms, will I not be able to apply Early Action now?

I think you can still apply EA. There’s a chance that your financial aid package will be delayed if you’re admitted, but if you send it tomorrow I bet it’ll still be fine, since they’re having trouble with their fax machine and everyone is trying to send them all at once. I couldn’t get them to go through because the fax machine was always busy, so I’m running them to the post office tonight.
I’m not any expert, (so if anyone knows for sure, feel free to correct me) but from my understanding you should be fine. There’s a small chance it’ll be an issue for your financial aid package, but it definitely shouldn’t affect your application because they are evaluated separately.

oh no!! i didn’t realize that was the deadline either… they say on their website
“Although you may apply for financial aid at any time, we recommend that you apply for aid when you apply for admission in order to receive an aid decision in a timely manner”

so i can still submit it tomorrow and be considered for aid, right?

bump
10 char

I don’t know because that graph also specifically says that the deadline is November first.

You can still submit your Financial Aid documents with no penalty. However, the sooner families can get these documents to us the sooner we can begin the process in order to give you a financial aid package in time.

You can still apply EA, and apply for Financial Aid, even if you don’t get every document in today.

I can’t possibly send my parent’s tax returns today! But if I mail them tomorrow, I’m still eligible right? I’m planning on finishing the CSS profile by today though.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, UChicago! You just relieved A LOT of stress from me and my parents. (We have no power, and i’m currently at a starbucks trying to get all my apps in)

Thanks you so much Grace! You just lifted a huge burden off of my shoulders.
