I want to say, for the record, that Georgetown admissions is RANDOM. I got admitted Stanford, Brown, Penn, Berk, Duke, JHU, waitlisted Swat and Yale...and Gtown waitlists me!?!?! After writing an amazing essay?

Anyone else feel like the process didn't really do justice for your app?

Uhm. Well, you can't win everywhere you go.

I frankly am grateful for my acceptance. I certainly don't have the track record you do, but.. there's no need to get all riled up about it. You got acceptances to some great institutions. Don't take it as an insult to your personal integrity if a school doesn't accept you. Just pick, and go!

Georgetown is one of the 15 most selective schools in the country. You can't base your admissions chances at Gtown on other school decisions.

Hey, at least you got waitlisted. I got rejected by Brown, Penn, and Dartmouth. ;)

Georgetown University class of 2009! :)

Maybe it's that very pretentious attitude that discouraged admissions officers. You really should get off the pedestal you put yourself on and go to one of the great schools that accepted you, and I really hope you learn to get over yourself.

:) I agree.."After writing an amazing essay.." who says that?!

In the words of two admissions professionals.

no... just rational human beings

mature... I say we end this, and I'm sorry if I offended you zephyr151, I wish you the best of luck. Truly.

He... really doesn't need luck- he got into Brown, Penn, Berkeley, Duke, and JHU! That's all the luck you need right there.

zephyr, they may well have waitlisted you because they didn't think you'd enroll. Colleges sometimes do that to students they think will might go somewhere higher up in the academic foodchain. Not to talk down about georgetown, a school that I may go to next year, but if your app was good enough to get you in at Stanford and Yale, they may have just assumed you go somewhere like that. Also, did you apply to SFS? That's a bit more selective, and I know that they look for specific things...
