<p>I counted newspaper as an EC because we met out of class on a regular basis. If band does the same, then yes.</p>
<p>Band counts, and I personally think that ec's are overrated. I didn't have anything significant but sports. I would make sure that you include your daily babysitting job somewhere in an essay (maybe the second essay on the common ap) to show what you got out of it and how much of a time commitment it was. Maybe even talking about the decision that you had to make to work instead of doing EC's. But didn't you do anything during school time? Help with a play? Participate in a club? Create art?</p>
