Gaining Admission For Grad School

Hey Everyone,
My college career has taken a different path as of recently due to my health issues. I attended Rutgers for my freshman year in 2007-2008, but was not able to return due to illness. In January of this year (3 years later), I enrolled into Northeastern University, College of Professional Studies, to earn my BA in Health Management online. I'm a diligent student and finished Rutgers with a 3.7 GPA and a desire to go into public health, and I feel that Northeastern is offering me a great opportunity to continue my education and pursue a similar degree. My health has been improving recently and I have a plan. I will be graduating in the Spring of 2014 (I will have taken my last class in December of 2013), and in between that I plan to volunteer in a hospital and in my community, apply for a summer research opportunity at Rutgers, and work 2-3 internships in 2013-2014.
I want to make sure that I can still fulfill my dream of gaining work experience and going to grad school for my masters, so I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me? I'm trying to take 3-4 classes per quarter (NU operates on a quarter system), and I am a bit worried about professor recommendations but I think I can get them from professors I hope to work with at Rutgers as well as employers. I would appreciate any feedback, even it it's a "sounds good, keep going" kind of thing. I've had to do a lot of research on my own to understand what it is that I need to do since I'm taking a different route in my education. Thanks a lot!
