Essays:
- New Yorker - Whoopi Goldberg
- Poem - A mosaic and used that as a metaphor for my characteristics
- Why Gallatin - Because of my summer mission trips to Jamaica and seeing the poverty there, inspired me to become their voice, had a vision to create a bridge between a world full of ignorance and a world victimized by it
- Can’t remember the other essays, but they really weren’t all that good… did it two days before deadline. I think the most important factor was my letter of intent or explanation as to why I wanted to study at Gallatin. I just briefly explained my story at Jamaica and then gradually moved into writing about the kind of subjects that interest me (international affairs, film producing, journalims, media/comm, economics, sociology).
I think essays are definitely the most important factors in admission to Gallatin… my GPA wasn’t all that great but I got in :)
