First time poster here…38, no degree, graduated in 92, GA resident.
Currently managing to live on a part time income, so I am seriously considering going after an online degree.
I’ve never had a student loan, nor do I have a mortgage or any debt.
I have been eligible for the GA HOPE scholarship in the past, but was not able to commit to school at the time.
I’m interested in game art and design based on the experience that I’ve gained over the last six years creating 3D models and game textures as a hobby.
If I can find an online program that will accept me, gain enough financial aid to pay for it along with a student loan, and come out of the ordeal with something that will get me above the poverty level working in this field–I’ll be happy.
That being said, do you think that looking at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh is way out of my league given the factors that I’ve listed here?
You can try Full Sail University, although they are “for profit” and quite expensive. Still, my friend went through their AA in Recording Engineering and it has served him wonderfully. They have an online program in Game Design and other similar fields:
