Game design

Hello all! Im currently in community college taking some gen-ed classes, im a freshman. I want to major in game design, and while I know computer science is more marketable I 100% plan on getting into the game design industry so I think game design is the best way for me to go. Im looking at some good programs to transfer to, my list is: USC (long shot I know), Drexel, and depaul. Next semester I will be taking a drawing class and one game design class. My question is what can I do to help the process out, and will USC look at my HS gpa to make or break my admission? Im going to get a 4.0 in college (im over confident, one of my flaws), but I had a 1.9 in HS due to concussions and laziness. Will that really affect admission? My college professors love me right now and I can get great letter of recommendation.

post this in the visual arts forum, you might get a better response.

You need not limit yourself to schools with a specific game design major, since game companies are perfectly willing to hire CS majors (take a look at the jobs listed on their web sites). You can take electives in graphics and AI along with the usual CS courses as a CS major.
