"Game" for those who got in.

I saw this on a UC Forum and thought it was sort of cool...

Since most of us will be at Wisconsin for the next several years, it would be best if we could become more familiar with it and learn a little more about the campus. So there's a game to help.
Someone posts a picture of something at Wisconsin, and the next person has to figure out what it is, and then post another picture..... and so on.

I'll start: (easiest one)

http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/1947155/2/istockphoto_1947155_bascom_hall_uw_campus.jpg

Well I won't be there next year, but I will the year after: Can't say that restricts me from participating...

I believe that that was a picture of Bascom Hill.

OKAY.. try this one: (also easy)

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1113/873139013_ae3859b401.jpg

You're right, that was easy!
That's the science hall.

This one's a little harder maybe:

http://www.theticketking.com/tickets/images/randall2.jpg

What is the actual NAME of this place?

I don't know any of these, I haven't even visited yet, lol. However, the first one (which I did recognize, but didn't know the name) is where my math teacher put 1,000 flamingoes one year in the 70s :D

and the 2nd one says "science hall" on it ;)

3rd is obviously the football stadium, but I don't know the name off hand...I could google it though but that takes the fun away haha

Camp Randall, it was the location of a Civil War era military installation. Too bad I chickened out, in the 70's (I thought the flamingoes were much later), when some dorm friends went to slide down the Science Hall fire escape one Saturday night (illegal I'm sure). And I never spent my nearly nonexistent funds on a "UW Tray Team - Ski Bascom Hill" patch some entrepeneur was selling one year. BTW, in those days taking trays from the food service areas was forbidden, now they show a picture of students using trays to sled on the hill next to Liz (Elizabeth Waters Hall- a dorm).

nope, the flamingoes was fall of '79 ;)

Here's a tougher one - which school occupies the Rennebohm Hall? Hint: it's next to the med school.

http://www.uwfoundation.wisc.edu/image.aspx/media/images/photography/horizontal/Rennebohm_Hall.jpg-512x225

Leon Varjian is your math teacher? You must be from NJ. He's a legend on campus.

haha yeah, he's the man...best teacher I've had

he taught me geometry in 10th grade and he's the advisor to math team :D

He was President of the Student Government while I was at UW. One of his first ideas was to rename it the University of New Jersey so people would think it was an elite eastern school. I even had one of the T-shirts he had printed and sold, being from NJ myself. His partner in crime went on to help found the show Mystery Science Theater 3000

Jim Mallon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yeah I've heard/read about tons of his stories, but he likes to deny these things...
