Game of Nerds - This seems up this website's alley

Oh my, so after 5 games: so my top category (the math/numbers one) was 80%, while my 2nd one (hardware one) is 36% :p

Also: 1 flaw is definitely too many repetitive questions, I’m guessing that is what makes high scores so enormous :p

(plus, how is asking how many cm are in 1 inch a good math question?!?!)

Because Americans and non-Americans alike won’t know the answer. :P

I’ve written about 25 questions and they’ve been used A LOT. I’m hoping more users (especially CC users) will write questions. And that they’re easily understood.

Go to “Play Game of Nerds.” In the bottom part of the screen, you’ll see an envelope with a number next to it. Click it. You’ll see that _____ wants to add you (or something like that). Click that message. Then click “Yeah, sure.”

^
I’ve started putting as many math questions as I can think of in there to gain coins :p

I can’t really judge the difficulty. Where would easy derivatives go? i.e. d/dx (x^2+sinx)

You definitely don’t have to be an expert in math, but it’s not really a ‘moderate’ topic…

I thought everyone knew 1 inch = 2.54 cm.

After spamming submissions of math questions, I’m really wishing they had at least 1 category with history questions.

They need a place to report bad questions.

“fluor” is not an element.

Also, there are two math questions that are inconsistent with each other… There are two asking for the 4th digit of pi, and they have different answers. One is talking about decimals, one is talking about the entire number…

I’m having way too much fun with this.

I was wrong about the above, one says 4th digit, and one says 4th decimal. Still rather annoying, though.

(Oh yeah, and go quadruple post!)

How long does it take to confirm a question?

I’m looking forward to when this becomes popular and we can all be hipsters. We played it “before it went mainstream.”

^
lol, I may have to stop by then. That way, I quit it before everyone else did too! ;)

It took about ~10 hours to start confirming math questions I put in last night; after that, one got confirmed every 45 seconds or so.

Oh, and I like the math question asking for the base of the natural log, and the answer is “e, eulikd’s numbers” (or something awful like that)

I know, I saw that one. Made me shudder.

God I am so stupid!!

How could I forget what a covalent bond between Carbon and Hydrogen is called!!!

Does anyone else absolutely hate the video games category? I don’t think I’ve ever gotten past 2 questions in it.

It looks like madogmgd might be able to do well in it, so that might help a bit later. :p

I’ll accept anybody who friend requests me.
My username there is Dogod.
I think i need the boost - my highest is 398, and I am out of coins (until questions get confirmed).

I’m pretty terrible at this game, but it is pretty addicting  My username is Hodor. I’m gonna start adding people from this thread now and also, you can say “yes” for me, DolorousEdd.

add me 2bletaprule

Wait…what’s wrong with that?

And for the newer members, my username: QXZ

EDIT: Oh, it’s Euler; not Euclid. Just realized that…stupid me.

Apparently I wrote a bad question:

(x+6)^2 is a _________ function: 11 55%

(which means: 11 tries, 55% correct)

Answer is quadratic… I guess it should not be in the easy category? :S

Hahaha, I got that question wrong the first time I saw it, but have gotten it right every time since then.

^
I’m guessing you picked exponential? :p

I wish it showed the breakdown of what answer was picked, I think sinusoidal was the other answer choice :D
