Gap in Education if skipping Spring 2009?

Hi, I will be submitting my application soon.

I am a transfer student and will have 60+ semester units finished at my CC by the end of this December 2008. IGETC. And TAG w/ Davis.

I plan on working from January 2009 to August 2009 (eight or so months straight, full-time) before I head out to UC Davis. I was wondering if this is a "gap in education" that must be explained? I don't plan on taking any more classes after this December (this will be my last semester before transfer)...

Once again, I will have my 60+ units required to transfer, AND my pre-reqs finished, as well as IGETC certified. On top of that, I also have a TAG that was accepted already by UC Davis.

Can anyone clarify--Do I need to explain this in my application? I figured the "gap in education" was for people who took time off after high school or between CC...

Thanks!

I am wondering about this as well, since I am planning on skipping spring 2010 as i have finished all my prereqs and IGETC by winter quarter and have well over 90 quarter units (all from CC). Will it be viewed upon negatively by admission if i decided to take spring off (provided i don’t really have any concrete reason other than wanting to save some money and go home and see my family)?

Anyone can weigh in on this?

No, it’s asking if you HAD a gap in your education. Educational gaps are usually due to dropping out for whatever reason, taking a semester off for whatever reason, or simply getting kicked out of your institution for whatever reason. I’m also in the situation you guys are in, and no, it does not count as a ‘gap.’
