<p>I know the UCSD is obviously the better school, but how big do you think the gap is for points on the UC pt system between these two schools…maybe 250 or so : /…i hope. I already got accepted to UCSB out of state. Do people who get into UCSB usually get accepted to UCSD?</p>
<p>Given that the ranking difference between the schools is 10 ranks, I would say ~150-200 points is a reasonable guess. The discrepancy in acceptance rates of these schools is about 9% (UCSD is 42%, UCSB is 51% or so) so I wouldn't wager on the difference to be much larger than that.</p>
<p>41,000 applicants to ucsb may have forced sb to be more selective so perhaps the difference isn't as large as many would think.</p>
