gap year- can you defer and apply?

<p>hi all...i really need some advice </p>

<p>I am an international living in the US and I have wanted to do a gap year for awhile and intent on doing it before i enter college </p>

<p>I have been accepted into a top 15 college, commmitted, like it a lot...however, I didn't request any fin aid (because it's not need blind to international) and it's hard, but not impossible, for my parents to pay it all</p>

<p>if I defer admissions...could I apply to some other colleges next year that are need blind to internationals? </p>

<p>this is only part of the reason I want to take a gap year....I have some cool ideas I will probably never get to do if I don't right now...you only live life once right?</p>

<p>So you want the college to stay committed to you for a year while you defer, and you in turn will be looking for a better deal. Does anything strike you about this as being wrong? It should.</p>

<p>What colleges are need blind to internationals? I can only think of some LACs.</p>
