^I think so too
and thanks!

Each school has a threshold, a number of college credits that determine that you are a transfer. Having a few college credits will not mean you have to apply as a transfer, having a whole yearâs worth on the other hand does. YMMV so research the specific schools you are interested in. Possibly take to the admissions office about your plans? It wouldnât hurt!

most college require one year of college study before you can apply as a transfer⊠since I would not have completed that by the time I apply how do you think the colleges will view this ? ( Iâll email them too )

Many students in the US who began their studies at one college last fall, are currently in the middle of applying for transfer. They donât have a full year of credits yet, however they probably will by the time they get to the new place in September. That is probably what is meant by the âyear of collegeâ that youâve heard about.

oh ok thanks for clearing that out ⊠so even if I do have a full yearâs college education but I still want to apply as a freshman ( mainly because its somewhat easier ) do you think the colleges allow this?

any more feedback would be really appreciated :)

If you have a full year of college credits, it would be almost impossible for you to apply anywhere as a freshman. The only places that I have every heard of that have that option are for admission to four year conservatory-based programs in the visual or performing arts that lead to a BFA degree.

Iâm an international student on a gap year and I was accepted to several great colleges with lots of FA (~$54,000/year everywhere) last month. So it can be done!

I do encourage you to think about taking a gap year if you really cannot see yourself at UCL (and UCL is a great institution!); however, you should be aware that competition for admission to the schools you were shut out of is fierce and you may not fare any better there next year. You will need to consider some less selective universities as well.

and if you donât do anything worthwhile during the gap year⊠then basically that works against you right? so its a gamble

Speedyz, You got a way good profile. I wonder why you did not get in :S
I am also rejected from every university I applied. So, Yeah I am taking a gap year.

Are you from Pakistan by any chance? if yes then which city?

and I think my SAT scores just werent good enough
