gap year question

OAKY GUYS!!! I just received this email: We have received your University of California Undergraduate Application for Admission and Scholarships. Thank you for your interest in our campus.

We are in the process of reviewing your application. Before we can complete our review and reach an admission decision, we need an explanation for the gaps in your educational history. Please provide chronological details of your activities during the following time period:

January 2013 - September 2014

If you were enrolled in one or more colleges or universities during any part of this time period, please provide the name and location of the institution(s), the dates of attendance, and a complete list of all course work attempted and grades earned.

IS THIS A GOOD SIGN I MIGHT BE ADMITTED OR NO? please answer if you know thankss

It’s not really a sign at all. They just want to know why you didn’t attend college during that time. You’ll only know you’re admitted when they actually say you are. What campus was this from? Good luck.

If you have gaps they usually always ask, even if you explained it in application. @ilovemydog2019 is correct.

Hii I just received the same email! But I’m not sure if my essay got submitted because it redirected back to the same page to write a new essay, however I received an email right after saying they recieved my response but once I open the email it doesn’t show me the writing. I just wanted to know if you had a similar experience I’m really worried.

Don’t worry. It said it was received and I think someone answered you with that same explanation.

There’s no reason your response would be in the auto-email.

@UniCoIn what essay you’re supposed to write a response in a message form but yes you should not worry if you submitted and are you sure that you pressed sent it was received and email is the proof of that! Thanks goodluck

@frazi78 hi yes I meant the response it’s just once I submitted it my computer froze and it just redirected me back to writing a new response. But I did receive an email confirming they received it right after. I guess I’m just overthinking it but I thought the page once I submitted it would redirect to a page to confirm it. Thanks for taking your time and replying back to me!

@Ohm888 should I be concerned if I didn’t get an email asking me about gaps in my education? I took a few years off between my attendance at UC Davis and community college. I did explain in the app but I keep reading of people getting some sort of email

@StudentAgain no, many people don’t get a request. It seems relatively arbitrary.

@Ohm888 thank you for your response!
