Gap Year+ reusing essays

Can i reuse essays to apply to some schools that i did last year? Even though i may have been rejected from those schools, could i still reuse the essays if i thought they were very well done?

I mean, for a question like "What's the best piece of advice i've ever gotten" how could i possibly write a new essay when the answer to the question would still be the same....

And for a "Why" essay i mean, my reasons for going to the school havent changed...so what do you think?

Since they reset the commonapplication every year, do you think the admissions officer would even notice that he/she's reading the same essay from an entire year ago?

Also i was reading somewhere that copying or reusing material from yourself is considered plagiarism...like ***??

I think it’s fine to re-use year-old essays as long as you’ve looked over them and done any necessary editing and as long as they are still applicable. I’ve never heard of “self-plagarization” so…yah.

The officers probably won’t remember essays too well, so I wouldn’t worry about that, but the main thing is revising the old essay, you’ve probably become a better writer since then too.
