gap year study abroad

I'm a senior in high school, but due to my unusual circumstances I may not be able to apply to college starting in fall 2015. So I plan on working and saving money during the summer and fall after I graduate to study abroad in japan or korea in the winter/spring of 2016 when I'm 19. (And start college in the fall of 2016) I can really only find scholarships for undergrads or students enrolled in high school or college or are below 18. Does anyone know of any scholarships or grants I could be eligible for for my study abroad? (I'm hispanic, plan on studying at a language school for either korean or japanese) thank you!!

Typically, study abroad scholarships (or financial aid to cover costs) are available to students that are registered at a university. Most scholarships in general are awarded to students that are registered as full-time students, where the scholarship organization often requires enrollment verification. I don’t know of too many students that study abroad independent of their registration at a university. I would really take a look at this plan, and if you are able to come up with the funding to afford it - make sure that the courses you took transfer to a school you are planning on attending in 2016.
