Gap Year-Taking a Class

So, I'm currently in the midst of a gap year and I know that I have to do something productive. I've been volunteering and working, but I also know that I should take a class. I've been teaching myself Japanese and continuing my German, but I've also been looking into enrichment classes. I was wondering which path I should pursue. Which one will look better on my application?

For many colleges, taking a college course after graduating from high school disqualifies you from frosh admission; you would have to apply as a transfer after completing a year or two worth of college courses. Check the colleges you eventually want to attend.

^ This! It’s very important. If you are a transfer you would not be considered for freshman scholarships which is where most of the $ are.
