Gap Year Travel Options

<p>Hello! So I'm currently taking a Gap Year and I'm looking to travel with a program that's not going to blow my life savings. I originally wanted to go somewhere in the UK/Europe, but I've had a change of interests recently and I am really interested in doing some volunteer work in a third world country, (i.e. Kenya, Peru, Mexico, I'm really open to anywhere). I was wondering if anyone on here had any experience with Gap Year programs, if you had any specific ones to recommend, and how you went about organizing the whole process-I'm really hoping to do this in a "group" setting as well, so I'm not having to live alone in some foreign land and figure out everything by myself. It would be nice to go with a group of volunteers and/or students who are similar to me! And as a said before, one that is reasonably priced-$10,000 for one month is just an absolutely ridiculous price to me! I'm having to pay and organize all of this myself, and I really have no experience in this field. Any feedback is welcome!</p>
