Gap Year?

Not that I’m going to suggest this but… Does UA offer a gap year option for admission and scholarships? Personally, I think the majority of the programs are incredibly expensive and I think its ridiculous to pay so much to some company for the right to help people.

I think that the only way that UA offers a gap year is probably what many schools do – defer if a student has a military obligation. I know that I had a student several years ago who joined the National Guard. He could not start college in the fall, so his scholarship money was deferred to the following semester.

I don’t know. I know some kids are given a semester off to do a co-op.

I agree that some programs are expensive. My younger son is just doing a one week thing in Nicaragua over spring break and it’s costing a lot of money for just one week (without airfare, which is an additional $800 bucks)

Gap year program mentioned in NYT costs $26K for 2 semesters, pretty crazy.
