So this year I applied to many colleges and got into four and I'm wait listed at two. The two I am wait listed at are colleges that I would like to go to, but out of the four I got accepted to, one I can't afford and the other three I'm not sure I'll love when I visit them next week. (I know I need to visit first before I make my decision so this isn't certain or anything but...) I think maybe I should take a gap year and only go to college this year if one of my two wait list colleges accept me.. first of all is this a good idea? Second of all, what kind of productive and impressive things could I do during my gap year? Does anyone have any stories of their own gap years? Would it benefit me in the application process next year?

I personally find taking a gap year really pointless. Go and visit schools and decide after that. You can also try to transfer if you don’t like the school you chose.
