I was wondering if any of you have any idea how to make the best of gap year. I am not just talking about internships and community service. What would be the best thing to do in your gap year so that it would reflect good on your Cv when you apply to colleges. Summer programs , foreign language, volunteer abroad, writing courses, international competitions and summit, travelling, anything that would be possible for us Nepali students.

I am planning well ahead of time so that I wont have any regrets later on. Your help will be highly appreciated.

One of the best things to do is just travel. No kidding. You’ve spent a lot of time in high school doing things that you think will help your CV and studying your a** off to get good grades. Sometimes, a little break from all that stuff and a little bit of perspective helps a lot. Sometimes I wish I had taken a gap year and chilled.

If you do want to pick something other than that, I’d suggest reading a lot. That helps you learn how to write better. One of the things a lot of us have trouble with, at least in the beginning, is writing well. You need to be able to write well, and not just write.

Hope that helps. Good luck on your applications.
