<p>I was thinking about hiking the Appalachian trail after getting an undergrad degree. Would this be wise, should I wait until getting a graduate degree. How would this affect me being able to get a job. I want to become an environmental engineer.</p>
<p>It is very common for a college graduate to take a gap year to do what he/she wanted to do. You have 60~70 years of life ahead of you, one year is not going to make a difference. Go ahead, if you can afford it.</p>
