Gap Year

Hey everyone,

I am an international student who is currently doing A levels ( equivalent of AP). My GCSE grades are good but I only have 2 AS results right now. My SAT scores are low - 1370 (got ready for it in a couple of months).

I am now thinking of taking a gap year because I want to apply to Stanford. Do you think that would be a good idea? I am planning to retake my SATs and take two SAT subject tests. I am also predicted to get A*AAA on my A levels this year. I will probably get a job an my parent’s firm in the financial department and will work on my common app next year. Everyone is against me taking a gap year. So what do you guys think?

You do realize that the chances of getting into Stanford are tiny? Look at other colleges and develop a range of options that is suitable to your stats.
