Has anyone done it? What did you do in that year? And when you re-applied, did you applied to schools that had denied you admission from the previous year and what was the outcome?

Just curious to hear of experiences from others. Not sure if doing this gap year would be an option. Considering this year was the most competitive year for college admission...so I'm told. Wondering if some of the kids are considering this and re-applying to their "dream" school" next year.

Thanks.

Again I have the opportunity to mention health insurance.
Make sure that you will not be kicked off of the family policy at age 19 if you are not a full time student. Many policies will not allow reinstatement.

Both kids are toying with possibility of perhaps a "gap"semester. Mominva is correct about health insurance-too important to lose. I know there are some excellent threads on CC about Gap years. Also, some colleges will let you defer admission for a Gap year-and from what I read on CC-certain selective colleges seems to have no problem with it.
