Everyone's application is confirmed the day after it is recieved.

We're talking about the status of your application as listed on the "check application" pane of gatech.edu. It either says "In Process" or "Application Complete."

It is hypothesized that more outstanding students have their application completed faster.

My son's application status changed to "Application complete" on Monday January 29th. He received his "Congratulations! You're a Yellow Jacket!" acceptance packet in the mail on Friday February 2nd. We live in Connecticut so that included mailing time for out of state.

My application status changed to complete last Friday, and I haven't received anything in the mail yet :( I'm starting to worry. I can't put in my housing deposit on the Oscar site either (though I had never heard of the site until after my application status changed, so I don't know if what on it may have changed, if anything). I'm in Michigan though, so I'm hoping thats the reason I haven't gotten anything yet.

This is what my Oscar page looks like (note the picture is actually two pages, the top half is what I get after I log in and the bottom half is what I see after clicking on Student Services):

so, mine is a little different from yours but im still not sure what all this means. maybe yours will change eventually too? i still haven't gotten anything in the mail, but i was reading another post about oscar and all the kids who had the same things on their page as mine were in. but im not getting excited about anything until i get something from tech in the mail. tech's not even my first choice though so, i guess i dont really care. but it would be good to know that i've gotten in somewhere since i'll have to wait until april for all the others to come in....

how long will it take the Housing in OSCAR to appear? I've had the Application Complete for 4 days at most now... but I don't see the housing thing yet. I don't want to lose hope in GATech.... oh man.. :(

Did you guys do the 'optional' essay? I didn't do it because I applied too late for the President's Scholarship and I wasn't interested in the Honors college (I hear normal GaTech is hard enough!). I wonder if it wasn't really optional.

What are your stats by the way if you don't have Campus Service on Oscar yet? Maybe that has something to do with it... My GPA is like 3.6, SAT was 740 verbal 710 math 550 writing. ACT 33 math 28 english (I think thats the only two they look at). SAT II 720 Physics 780 math II. I thought my essay was decent and my high school only offers 3 AP classes (but I'm only taking one of them). Also I'm out of state.

it took weeks for my oscar to update so i wouldnt worry about it; they do a wave of applicant acceptances in mid march so id say expect it to go down then.

those b*stards....when I applied early action for the presidential, I called to make sure about a certain...I'm not sure what it was, but they said they would still consider me for it. and then guess what, they didn't.
