<p>I'd choose Michigan just because it is as strong as GT in EE, but has a better social life and more of a typical college setting.</p>

Well i think mich is a better univ. but gatech is probably stronger in eng. I would choose umich because i think it will give you a better college education and college life in general. Gatech loses when it comes to m/f ratio and the fact that its campus is in the middle of atlanta IMO.</p>

<p>I agree w. UMich being the better choice - it has a stronger overall reputation (being one of the foremost public u's in the country), and you would probably recieve a more holistic education their. I've also heard that Gatech has an overly competitive atmosphere, the majority of intro classes serving as freshman weedout classes. Thus Michigan prob has a better social/academic atmosphere in addition to being more reputable.</p>
