@jm 1992, yes you are right! and thanks for chancing me and giving me advice, see you at Tech. BTW, for people want to apply in the future, my CGPA is 3.82, math/science 4.0. electrical engineering, international student. Honestly, the process of applying was not easy at all. Just try the best and never give up! we can make it! Best wishes to all who still waiting for their decisions.

I just called tech and they said decisions will be rolling in all day today until midnight

I don’t get it. 4.0 math/science and 3.9 overall outstate cc. Applied for mechanical engineering when application is available, is been 3 months since “files under review”. Still no decision yet… This is getting frustrating, all other university already accepted me, just waiting for gt. any idea guys?

“please be sure to carefully review the information found on the “Accepted Transfer” tab in BuzzPort”

Where is the “Accepted Transfer” tab in BuzzPort? I can’t find it anywhere … or has it just not been updated yet?

@squigglers
Give it a day tops for it to update. It was the same way when I got accepted

i think i will not hear my decision today. my status is incomplete because my spring grade is missing. how am i suppose to send it if right now i am in the middle of the quarter. errr

Im not getting a decision today either. They just received my transcript monday though so I wasn’t really expecting to get one anyway. This next month is going to be stressful.

I’ve lurked on this thread for a couple months now and I thought I’d register to shed some light for others. I was denied admission for Mechanical Engineering today. I have a 3.81 GPA with A’s in every Physics and Engineering course I’ve taken. I hope this helps some folks.

mengie, it is kind of awful being denied with a GPA 3.81. I am feeling sorry for you. Actually, for myself also. If u r denied with 3.81, then I will be denied on June 15 with 3.77 for Civil Engg. Have u any idea what worked behind this decision? How many credits have u completed?

I have completed 74 semester units at an out of state jc. I haven’t yet taken linear algebra or de so that might have been a factor. Other than that, I’m pretty flabbergasted. I am a non traditional student in that I have returned after an 8 year hiatus. I went to jc right out of high school and had two semesters of fail withdrawals. My 3.81 GPA includes those two semesters. If they denied me because of that, they didn’t read very deeply into my scholastic history.

i have a friend who has 3.92 gpa. He just rejected because he doesn’t complete one class. I think gatech really take seriously for those who are not complete the required courses.

@jbaek60: In the acceptance letter it says I am accepted contingent on my Spring grades. I have 62 hours completed from a small four year college but have a 4.0
@Jaco: With our grades I am really surprised they haven’t accepted you yet. I’m sure you’ll get in
@squigglers: I have the same problem. I am not seeing the " accepted transfer " tab. I’ll I’ve it a couple days until I call them.

yeah, additional information: I am taking linear algebra and physics II in this quarter(which means they do not know how bad/good I am in those classes…Btw, 3.8x is not enough for mechanical engineering @GT. That program is crazily competitive. For civil engineering, my friend(who applied last year and got accepted @tech) said >3.7 should be enough and safe. You still have a high chance for getting in.

@mengie, 74 is a lot! whatever, I wish u best of luck. You have a good GPA. U will be fine any way.

@jenson123, I hope I will be accepted. I know ME is very competitive at GT. I am done with 59 credits including calc III, linear algebra, physics II, and statics. The bad thing about me is i have B in calc III and linear algebra. Rest of the science or engg. courses have A. One more month to get the decision. It is quite frustrating. :(

Khanprat: how about your over all gpa? I have a friend who got accepted in summer semester in mech. engineering. He got 3.99 gpa and 4.00 in science(yeah, he is crazy…)

My overall GPA is 3.77. GT did not receive my Spring grades yet.

@khanprat aren’t we still in the middle of spring quarter??

My college is semester based. I am done with spring semester. My college sent my transcripts to GT. I will start the summer semester from 28 May. It is not a problem for me. I have completed all the required courses on Fall 2012.

***. i just called gatech and the representative says i cannot apply for fall 2013 because they need my spring grades. This is so unfair for student who attends cc with quarter system…

That sucks. I’m surprised they don’t know what type of system your cc uses.
