My son is applying for GMS...he's a National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar and was admitted to UPenn/Wharton ED...does anyone know how much they look at non-custodial income? His dad isn't willing to contribute anything...I'm a teacher and single parent of 2...my son will in college next year and my daughter is in high school. My AGI is about 45ish and the only thing I own is a Honda Civic.

It depends on however you fill out your FAFSA and if you qualify for Pell Grant by the FAFSA. Gates doesn’t look at how much you make beyond that (meaning being poorer doesn’t help you get higher chances of getting hte scholarship). So basically, everything’s based on your FAFSA.
So I would advise you to ask around in the Financial Aid forums of CC to see how having a single parent and another parent that refuses to give financial support affects your FAFSA; I don’t really know about that, sorry.
