anyone know how many finalists there are???

With gates first you become a finalist. There is no such thing as a semi-finalists. After you submit your materials if you are selected you will become a scholar and receive the scholarship.

Hey guys! I received an email at 9:48 a.m. today and I am a finalist!!! I am so excited!!! And good luck to everyone! We all worked really hard ^_^

And by the way, I am Asian from MN!

Got home late today from tennis practice and got an email saying I’m a finalist. Does being a finalist give you like a 99% chance of getting the scholarship if all your supporting documentation is sent in? After all, none of it is really any different from the information that we put into the application. I’m just guessing this is to verify your information stats with official documentation?

I’ve been reading this thread since the morning, while anxiously awaiting an email and making a call to find out which response I get (letter is on it’s way). And at first I thought it was absurd if they sent out notifications by race, but I’m thinking otherwise now… How weird. Buena suerte a los hispanos! :D

I am hispanic from Boston but nothing yet, congrats to those who got it, … Praying

I am hispanic too ! I am so anxious to know already!!! I hope tomorrow will be the day ! Good luck to everyone ! :)

And for those of you that are nervous about the phone call (and too lazy to re-read the thread LOL) One finalist called and said that they got the same message as all of us. So dont base your notification off that phone call! Wait for the mail, or email.

OMG I GOT FINALIST <3 (so happy, that means I have a chance) my gosh, this letter came so unexpectedly (x
