<p>Hispanics from Cali, do you guys live in northern or southern california. I live in the central valley and am really afraid/nervous to go home. I want to know but at the same time I am scared to be disappointed.</p>
<p>No, there is no place to confirm whether you are a scholar or not yet. The guys at AIGCS keep telling me to be patient - HA! Like there is any other choice at this point :)</p>

<p>So the mail came already, still nothing. I’m an Asian American from SoCal, and I’m kind of discouraged because another girl from the same area already got hers today.</p>
<p>I GOT IT! i ran to the mailbox as soon as i got home to see a large envelope waiting for me! i was screaming and my mom is still in shock and crying ahhhhhhhh i can’t believe it!!! i’m a native from texas. good luck to all those still waiting for their mail!</p>

<p>By the grace of GODDDDD, I am proud to say that I am a Gates Millenium Scholar of 2011. I really thought I was not going to get it … Hardwork really does pay off .
So many people were telling me that I wasnt going to get it, teachers, guidance counselors… u name itt. This is so unreal to me. I am praying for all u other finalists && i know that GOD will come thru for u.!! </p>

<p>God is a miracle worker. I did not have as near te amazing stats as most scholars. It just goes to show God had this in his plan for me. Thank you GOD. Because without him this would not be possible. I hope all you are blessed to share this experience when you get your BIG package in the mail.

<p>Holy *****! I’m a Gates Scholar. ='DDDDDDD After crying for a good ten minutes after seeing my package from returning from work, I got it! =] Asian from Miami, FL. Stats: unweighted 3.78/weighted: 6.347. Ranking 6/50 and in a dual-enrollment high school. Lots of academic success and good (not great) amount of community service. About 210 hours total. Good teacher recommendation. Probably heading to Boston U to major in neuroscience/double minor in BME + Muslim studies. UF was my top choice, but not anymore (no offense Gators, I still love UF). If anyone is heading to BU, message me since I know no one there. XD</p>
<p>ZOMG! MY FATHER JUST CALLED ME IN TEARS, I’M A GATES SCHOLAR. I guess the praying paid off (not to mention 4 years of hard work). BEST OF LUCK to everyone still waiting for news.
