<p>Hey all,</p>

<p>Just wondering, any Cornell Gates scholars in here?</p>

<p>I'm in a bit lost in regards to the financial aid process. Anyway, from what I've gathered, University loans are not covered. This comes from the person who is in charge of filling out those GMS info sheet. She said that this was the case for last year. Another person told me something else, basically all loans are covered with the exception of the EFC. </p>

<p>Another thing I noticed:</p>

<p>-EFC is higher than the one reported by the FAFSA. (According to Cornell, they made appropriate adjustments based on info submitted to them via FAFSA, tax forms, CSS, etc.)</p>

<p>Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but basically, that's my situation. I'm also wondering if someone can verify the thing about the University loans. Also, if I do budget increases, they will increase my loans, but which ones?</p>

<p>I'm not going to cornell, but I know GMS does not cover EFC or University Loans. . .it was in the 2005 scholar handbook. EFC does vary from school to school depending on how they did your info they don't have to neccessarily use the FAFSA EFC.</p>
