Gates Scholarship: Who needs it anyway?

As arrongant as the title of the thread sounds, not only was in an attention-getter but a serious issue for me.

I got in School A where I basically where I want to go. They are giving me full ride to the school.

I got waitlisted in School B where they may not give me as much. However, I got Gates, which I think will be a huge tipping point for me to get accepted (hopefully fingers crossed) and I worked my butt of to get them to notice me.

I would love to go to School A because of the atmosphere as well as academics (and because I dont have to pay for it). But School B, from what I've seen being there last weekend, is amazing on the academics and has a beautiful campus. Each of the two schools are amazing in their own regards (and yes, I have visited both campuses)

Well anyways, with my situation:

Can you postpone your Gates benefits to Graduate School or do you have to use them in you undergrad year? SHould I go to School A and hope that grad school is paid for?

OR

Should I opt to take advantage of the amazing education at B and help me to boost my chances to grad school. School B, if you effectively utilize their career planning dept can boost my chances to 92% to be admitted to an amazing Med School.

Also, are there ways to used Gates to pay for other expenses that I may need in college if I go to School A like laptop, used car, etc.

Thanks in advance and I hope this will also serve as a resources for other Gate Scholars.

bump bump bump

Anyone?

Bump (10 char)

I just dont understand ur question...maybe thats why no one has responded...just a guess

If you think you have a better chance at Med school with school B then go there. Or if you want to go to school A ans reserve your Gates scholarship, then call the man himself and ask him.
