Hi all, I was wondering if “Due: 01/15/2019” means due before January 15th or if it means due on January 15th (latest you can submit is January 15th at 11:59 PM).
Thanks!

I had the exact same question!
I am submitting everything tomorrow night.
Due Tuesday, January 15th 11:59:59 PM
@ThomasBr Thanks. Does it say somewhere on Gateway? I must have not noticed it.
@livelaughxc no but I went through the process last year and submitted my application about 2 minutes before midnight on January 15 and everything was on time
Thanks! @ThomasBr
Does this apply to any time zone, or is there one in particular? I noticed that on Gateway, it says something about UTC…
@willmo the thing on the top says “Our system runs on Universal Time (UTC). The submission dates/time will reflect that but the system will accommodate for deadlines in your particular time zone.” This means that the due date is 11:59:59 on insert due date here
I still kind of don’t get it?.. So it is due 11:59:59 UTC?
@ilovechoateeeee AFAIK, it’s due 11:59:59 your timezone, since that’s generally how that works for college apps? I’d say keep it safe and stick to 11:59:59 UTC/EST though
@CavsFan2003 Ok thanks!!
I was planning on submitting everything tonight but I’ll submit them tomorrow night instead. There is one part of my essay that I’m iffy about.
Applications deadlines were easier way back when they had to be “postmarked by”…
…and dinosaurs roamed the earth.
FWIW - I do know that if something is due on Jan 15 and it is submitted on Jan 14 or earlier, it is never going to be considered late. Just sayin’. :-B
Let me tell you a secret. Guess how many AO’s are sitting at their computer at 11:59 waiting to flip the off switch at midnight? Precisely zero. If it’s a few minutes late, it will still be accepted. But really, you all should be done by now. Don’t tempt fate by waiting until the final second.
