gator 1 card

I just loaded my daughters declining balance...I see there is a vending machine balance that states works on washing machines, dryers etc....wont the Well's Fargo side of the card work on those or must I put money on the vending machine account too?

i don’t think the washer/dryers in the dorms take credit/debit cards. they’re the only things i ever used the vending account for.

that’s funny, because the vending account through my gator 1 has never worked on the washers/dryers for me. I have always had to use my debit card. I think it might have to do with what area’s washing machine you are using. Like some area’s work with the account and some don’t.

will they accept regular quarters?

Dryers take quarters, but washing machines do not.

no consistency! I guess I load the vending machine account, load the wells fargo account and give her quarters!!! and hope for the best :)

There is a consistency as the information above is incorrect. Debit cards can be used on all vending machines. Wells Fargo debit cards are not the only option for debit as well. Multiple Bank of America ATM machines are available inside of the Reitz Union during regular business hours.

Here’s a question: Suppose you have a declining balance account and have your Gator 1 tied to a Wells Fargo account. What happens when you buy food? Does it ask you what account to charge, or default to the declining balance or something?

from my understanding there are two strips on the back of the Gator 1 card…one is the declining balance/meal plan strip…the other is the debit with wells fargo

You specify to the cashier which balance you would like the charge to go to.

hapyhapy: I just looked, and it does in fact have two strips. That makes sense.

The wide strip is the Wells Fargo account (ATM card) and the more narrow strip is supposed to be for meal plans and the vending account. That was my understanding when we set it up at Preview.

I know this is late, but the washers and dryers do indeed take any regular credit card.
