Is it a very accepting university? Is it easy to meet other gay students? Also, anything else people should know about gay life at cal?? Please be as specific as possible! Thanks

Berkeley is probably one of the most accepting universities when it comes to the LGBT community. There are a ton of queer alliance organizations on campus and we even have a gay fraternity. Also, we’re right across from San Francisco, home of the famous Castro District.

Berkeley is very accepting. Some would even say pro-gay, since may people on campus will even treat you better if you are gay, since it is seen as being part of the history of the campus.

It’s definitely one of the best colleges when it comes to the treatment of the LGBT community. It was really nice for a change to be in a place that didn’t bat an eyelid when I told people I was bisexual. Sadly, I’ll probably be going to UCLA.

Phew, cause I read some post about a guy who was really ****ed that his roommate was gay, and I was just really hoping it wasnt actually like that lol

I wouldn’t worried, Cal is very gay friendly :)! That story was probably one in thousands!

There will always be bigots no matter where you go, Calicious is right, meeting one is an extremely rare occurrence at Cal.
