haha good one... I like the joke...

umm....gay people dont get special housing. the hell is that? hella discriminatory.

either you
1) stop being so homophobic and just live with it
2) firmly establish ground rules with what you are and are not OK with him doing [which you should do anyways if you're doing #1]
3) talk with your RA/RD and hopefully they can help transfer you to another room/floor/building

if that's really a problem, that's really really pathetic.

i'm gay, and my straight roommate and his girlfriend were totally fine with it. And if there was anything that we didn't get along about, it never was related to me being gay.

GROW the F*** UP and start learning from others rather than just running away from your problems, college is all about putting yourself in unfamiliar situations and being more open-minded.

welcome to UCLA, get used to other people that are "different"

Actually, I was hoping for a gay roomate, even though I am straight. LMFAO.. I don't really know why, I just think it would be cool.

i dont get the question... are you saying you wouldnt be ok with a gay roommate, or you're gay and afraid your roommate wouldnt' be ok with you?

if its the first, grow a pair and deal with it. i've found the most homophobic people are often gay themselves. sure, straight guys can sometimes be 100% accepitng, or a little uneasy/indiffierent, but there is no true heterosexual who is deathly afraid of gays. that kind of person is hiding something in themselves.

if its the second, see what happens and if theres any harassment talk to your resident director.

AMEN to namaste=grow a pair.

I had a gay suitemate first year and a gay aptmate 2nd year. We lived together fine.

if i had a gay roommate, I would just request a room switch or w/e . no offense to gays but it just makes me uncomfortable

You should make him feel at home as much as possible.

Here is a wierd question. What if the gay roommate wants a gay roommate and doesn't want a straight roommate is that equally discriminatory?

yes i would imagine it is

Welcome to California.

what if you have a gay roommate...realize that he/she is gay, and then want to switch? is it possible?

Asking to switch because your roommate is gay is ridiculous. It's not like you're going to "catch" gay from him. I'm sure you wouldn't be ok with it if someone wanted to switch roommates simply because they didn't want to live with an Asian or white person.
I'm straight and extremely bothered by the fact that in this day and age, people are still "uneasy" about homosexuality.

^^lmao to JohnDoe35. You didn't know that homosexuality is contagious? It's a well known fact. (kidding, people)

i hope i dont have a gay roommate who thinks im hot
