Gay scene at LACs?

Hey, I'm a senior and of course, I'm going through the whole college admissions process. I wanted to know how accepting the colleges that I'm applying to are with the gay community. As well, as a gay male, where will it be difficult to find fellow gay students?

Note that I'm not necessarily looking for a extremely accepting artsy Grinnell, Sarah Lawrence school. Just a place that people will respect mt lifestyle.

Here is my list (in decreasing personal interest)

-Middlebury
-Colby
-Bates
-Hamilton
-Dickinson
-Vassar
-Franklin and Marshall
- Wheaton
-Gettysburg
-Muhlenberg
-SUNY Geneseo
- University of Rochester

The one school that jumps out at me as not as accepting is Gettysburg. It had a pretty conservative study body. The school that jumps out at me as most accepting is Vassar. I am surprised to see Wesleyan missing from your list.

Muhlenberg is very accepting of gays.

More specifically, how about Colby and Middlebury

Both are very preppie but you won't find a lot of real discrimination at either (nor at Bates - I go there so I can definitely verify that one) - there also probably won't be a huge gay scene like you might find at some of your more typical "alternative" schools. So no one's going to have a problem with it (or at least very, very few) but there won't be that many other LGBTQ people around. Just gotta find the right group to hang out with though.

Wesleyan has a large gay population.

Wesleyan was on my list, but I decided against it

Get Wesleyan on there and get rid of Gettysburg and Rochester.

too late... already sent SAT scores and common app....

my most serious schools are Colby, Middlebury, Vassar, Hamilton and Dickinson

I'd choose Vassar or Middlebury in that case.
