gay students at Mich

Very self explanitory.
I come from a Liberal town in NJ and have been openly gay for a few years. I am very interested in applying to Michigan, but due to distance, I have not able to visit it.
I visited schools like Vassar and Wesleyan and saw a large gay presence on campus, and I was wondering if anyone could comment at all about gay life/number of gay students at michigan?
Basically, I want to make sure I end up going to a school where there are other kids like me

any information would be greatly appreciated

I think the University of Michigan's Spectrum Center website should address some of your questions.

michigan is really diverse. that being said, i know a lot of gay people

Put it in your essays...

I think Michigan's accepting and tolerant, but at the same time, I've only met 1 gay guy and 1 bi girl here and I know a people from lots of different types of things. When I went to an event for Pride Week last year, it seemed like most of the gay community that showed up were older people from Ann Arbor, but that might just be because the event didn't appeal to students.
