I want to know straight up what is it like for Gay men on these two campuses? What is dating like? Are the Gay guys attractive? How present and accepted is the LGBT community on campus? Are they insulated and quiet, or outgoing and present? I would just really like some real answers, not the sugar coated stuff.

go to Vassar

Go to Yale.

I have read, more than once, on the Williams CC forum, that there are literally no more than a few dozen gay men on campus. That to me suggests one of three possibilities, 1) that the poster didn’t know what they were talking about, 2) that they DID know what they were talking and gay men avoid Williams in droves or, what is far more likely, 3) that most gay men at Williams feel it necessary to remain closeted. Any one of those possibilities is a bit disappointing for such a small community.

Not sure about Amherst. I do believe that the issue comes up less often on their CC forum.

There are approximately 1,000 male undergrads at Williams. For only 4% of them to be openly gay is not incredibly shocking.

^^^that sounds reasonable

So, assuming that’s correct, the same number of gay men at Amherst would translate to about 5%. Apparently, no one uses the original Kinsey reports on sexual orientation as the American benchmark any longer: [Kinsey Reports - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](<a href=“Kinsey Reports - Wikipedia”>Kinsey Reports - Wikipedia)

I am actually quite curious about this as well. Both Amherst and Williams are my top choices and my decision on which one to ED depends heavily on the LGBT support/dating pool that is offered. Any thoughts?
